Listen to what our Junior Members have to say.....
"I think Palo Alto Rowing Club has to reach out to the community because crew is an incredibly
rewarding sport-physically, mentally, and socially. I have stretched myself beyond my limits while working with some of the
best friends that I have ever had.The values of commitment, determination, teamwork, and leadership were demonstrated to me
so much so that I will always carry them with me......Palo Alto Rowing Club must offer what we can- knowledge, volunteers,
equipment, to help in whatever ways we can to provide the benefits of rowing to a greater population." M.M.
"Crew is a very unifying and team oriented sport. In order to succeed, rowers must understand and appreciate their fellow
rowers. Unity and appreciation of your neighbors are important community values, so the community could take away some valuable
lessons from the sport of rowing." K.S.
Programs
Along with the administration from 4 local high schools and the police officers assigned to them, we are focusing
on students at risk. These students will use our Erg facilities to train for the local indoor rowing championships, which
is a qualifier for the National Indoor Rowing Championships, also known as the crash B's. Additional goals
will also be set once students start the program. Students who achieve these goals will be invited to join Palo Alto
Rowing Club as full members. Our hope is that given the opportunity, these students will learn some fundamental requirements
for a successful life by setting goals, prioritizing, committing and finishing high school.

- Palo Alto Downtown Streets Team
"Thank you for your continued support of the Downtown Streets Team! Palo Alto is a community that has an issue--too many
unhoused people and too many panhandlers--the Downtown Streets Team was founded in May 2005 to help solve these
issues!! Our town has created a unique program to help solve this matter and funds the solution through direct donations
from each of us locally! We are a community that cares and works together to creatively make life better for all that
live and work here."
